Art Clay Scotland is located at The Little Bead Shop and is the side of our business that deals with everything to do with Art Clay Silver from supplies of the clay on the shop floor, to keeping up to date with the new developments in Japan to the regular courses we run.
Art Clay Silver is a magical product that consists of very fine particles of pure silver that have been suspended in an organic non-toxic binder. Often referred to as Metal Clay, Art Clay Silver has revolutionized the skill of jewellery making, as it allows even the beginner to make their own fine silver jewellery!. Those aspiring to make metal jewellery are no longer restricted by a large monetary investment and lengthy learning curve. Art Clay Silver really is surprisingly simple to use! It feels very much like ordinary clay and can be easily shaped, moulded, and sculpted with simple tools or your fingers. After pre-finishing and drying the piece is fired with a torch, on a gas hob or in a kiln. The binder burns away leaving a 99.9% pure silver piece. The finished piece may be treated like any other fine silver, and can be hallmarked 999.
This fantastic product does not need expensive tools or equipment - in no time at all you can be making your own charms, earrings, pendants and rings in your own home. With Art Clay Silver there is something for everyone - from beginners to advanced! Take a look at our Artists Gallery. |
